W Walnut Shells - Natural exfoliants used in facial masks. Their mild scrubbing action helps break up oil deposits and clear away dead skin cells and debris.

Watercress - A good source of vitamins A, B-complex and C. Soothing and conditioning, very beneficial to the skin. (See also Vitamins A, B-complex and C.)
Wheat Germ Oil - A skin nourisher that also acts as a natural preservative because of its high vitamin E content.

White Birch Extract - Powdered extract from the bark of the tree, rich in betulin, and known for its soothing and freshening effect on the skin. An excellent addition to sun care products and face creams.
White Camellia Oil - Rich oil extracted from the white camellia flower, cultivated in the villages of China and Japan and used in hair and skin care formulations for thousands of years. A superb moisturizer and nutrient for hair and skin, white camellia oil is available in our White Camellia line.
White Pine Bark - American Indians used this soothing extract in preparations for problem hair and dry skin and scalp long before coal tar and other petrochemicals were ever used.
Wild Ginger Root - Also known as Nigerian root, this oil is used in tiny amounts as a fragrance. I include both powder and oil forms in bath products such as Relax-R-Bath for its warming and soothing effect on tired muscles.
Willow Bark Extract - The extract of willow bark from Australia, used in sun care preparations for its soothing effect on sun exposed skin. I combine it with PABA (Aminobenzoic acid) and other sun protection ingredients in my natural sun care products.
Wintergreen Oil - A tonic, stimulant and freshener, this aromatic oil has a "heating" or "warming" action on the muscles and skin. Excellent in body rubs and bath oils, as well as mouthwash and toothpaste formulations.
Witch Hazel - Natural skin toner extracted from the bark and leaves of the witch hazel plant. Witch hazel water is 15% alcohol. |
